⛷️Get ready for an unforgettable ski experience at one of the most iconic destinations in the French Alps - Tignes!⛷️
Tignes is situated in the French alps and together with its sister resort of Val d’Isere, forms an area known as Espace Killy – named after Jean-Claude Killy a famous French World Cup and Olympic Champion skier. The combined area is one of the largest linked ski areas in the world and consists of approximately 300km of marked piste.
Tignes and Val d’Isere are high resorts and are known for reliable snow coverage and the longest ski season in the French alps.
The espace killy area has runs for all abilities and for the more daring and adventurous there is La Face, an infamous black run, which links Tignes to Val D’Isere.
Fear not, there are other less challenging links and also cable cars and funiculars to get you from Tignes to Val d’Isere. Cable cars and funiculars will also return you from Val d’Isere to runs which lead back to Tignes.
There are also glaciers in Tignes and Val d’Isere, which have marked runs.
Restaurants on the slopes, are convenient for lunchtime and apres ski stops, along with cafes and bars in the various villages of Tignes and Val d’Isere. There are also several shops if you need any equipment or souveniers.
A large swimming pool complex close is close to the hotel and one free session is usually granted with a 6 day lift pass.
Buses which connect the villages of Tignes and also buses within Val d’Isere are free with a lift pass, and may assist you to get to your desired runs or back to the hotel.
When you're not carving up the slopes, why not enjoy the entertainment! Evening activities are generally offered and arranged by the Rep, which generally includes a quiz night. During the day they may also offer guided tours of some of the resort runs. A good way of getting to know the area!
