Join us for an exclusive CSSC volunteering day at the stunning Alnwick Garden!

Built to be unconventional, The Alnwick Garden is a unique, contemporary garden in the heart of Northumberland. Transformed across seasons, no two days in The Garden are ever the same. The Garden’s history is still honoured through the traditional Ornamental Garden and mesmerising Rose Garden. Created by The Duchess of Northumberland in 2001, The Alnwick Garden is a garden with a purpose and is a registered charity that places people at the forefront of all of its activities.

10am: Arrival at The Alnwick Garden, meet just outside of admissions for greeting and briefing

10.30am: Help gardening team with requirements including rose garden tidy up

1pm: Break for lunch (Café provision onsite or you are welcome to bring packed lunch and/or venture into Alnwick Town Centre for lunch which is a short walk away)

1.45pm: Continue to help gardening and maintenance teams with requirements

3pm: Wrap up volunteering

3.30pm: Guided tour of the poison garden

4pm – 6pm: Free time in The Garden or you are free to head home

Please note: Volunteering will be mainly outdoors so please ensure you are dressed appropriately/bring provision for the possible elements including sensible footwear, a raincoat, hat, suntan lotion and a water bottle. Volunteers will have access to The Alnwick Garden staff room throughout to make a hot drink, fill up water bottles and have a little rest if needed. This event is open to CSSC members only.
