After the departure of Band Leader Martin Jones and the loss of some key Band Members, new Band Leader Paul Dyson is working hard to re-establish the Band; one of CSSC Midlands Flagship activities!
You do not need to have any experience of playing in a Big Band to participate; but you must be able to read music to a reasonable standard (roughly Grade 5 for the horn sections & trombonists will need to read bass clef). The emphasis of the Big Band is to bring musicians together and have fun through making music; so the key thing we ask of you is enthusiasm and a willingness to give it a go.
We would particularly welcome some more trumpet (or cornet) & trombone players to compliment & balance with our saxophone section. Guitar, keyboard, drums and percussion are also very welcome; but no matter what instrument you play (or vocalists) please get in touch.
