Join us for an unforgettable Active Wellbeing walk beginning at the picturesque village of Craster visiting English Heritage’s Dunstanburgh Castle. 

This is an easy circular walk offering fantastic sea views, observe seabirds nesting or skylarks in the grasslands. On your walk you will approach the 14th century Dunstanburgh Castle, which has long been a focal point for photographers, painters and wildlife enthusiasts. The castle was begun in 1313 by Earl Thomas of Lancaster. 

There are towered walls and sheer drops to the sea on the north side. At Dunstanburgh Castle your exclusive Active Wellbeing event will include entry to the site. 

Date & Time: Tuesday 27th May 2025 starting at 10am

Access: Not suitable for wheelchairs or pushchairs. 

Length of walk: 4 miles 

10:00 – Meet in the car park at Craster, Craster Alnwick Northumberland NE66 3TW 

10:15 – Guided walk from Craster to Dunstanburgh Castle. 10:45 – Arrive at Dunstanburgh Castle. 

11:00 -  We would recommend bringing a packed lunch or cafes are available within the village of Craster.  

Location: Starting at Craster at the Tourist Information Centre for a circular walk.
