Meet the Membership Recruitment Team

Have you got a question for the membership recruitment team? If so, you can get in contact using our online form found here.

Matt Davies - Head of Membership Recruitment

Prior to joining CSSC in early 2019, Matt worked in advertising and design, marketing and sales within the private sector for nearly thirty years, sixteen of which were running his own graphic design agency and nine within the golf and leisure industry. Matt has also worked as a sponsorship consultant for one of the UK’s leading professional development golf tours, Jamega Pro Tour. Matt is thoroughly enjoying the challenge of utilising all his private sector experience and implementing a more commercial account management approach to membership recruitment for CSSC.

Away from CSSC, Matt is a proud father of three children, an avid golfer and angler with a passion for F1, MotoGP and World Superbikes. He also shares, with his wife Lian, a love for Australia where they have been 12 times!

Steven Toms - Account Manager (Civil Service)

Steven has been an active member of CSSC's recruitment team since joining in February 2018.  He is dedicated to promoting the organisation's mission and values.  His involvement with CSSC, however, dates back to 2006 when he first started working in the civil service and became a member.  He then started volunteering for CSSC and remains committed to supporting the wellbeing of our members.

Sports have always been a passion for Steven, both as a participant and spectator.  In his teens he competed at national level in Athletics, specialising as a sprinter.  These days, he is an avid basketball player, and proudly acts as coach for both the men's and women's teams of the Glasgow Eagles.

Steven is thrilled to be part of the CSSC community and eager to continue promoting the organisation's values and opportunities to prospective members.

Scott Thorne – Account Manager (Education)

Scott lives in South Wales, with his wife, Marie, three stepdaughters, Jasmine, Jessica and Anya, and their Golden Doodle Bruce.

Outside of work, Scott is passionate about sport, particularly football, where Scott holds a UEFA B licence qualification. He spends his down time, volunteering and coaching a local women’s senior team, as well as being part of the coaching setup for the Boys & Girls Club of Wales.
