The Welsh Government applied for funding to organise 5 a side football sessions with colleagues in their local area. We were delighted to be able to support them. Hear more from Mike: -

The Welsh Government staff at the Aberystwyth office have enjoyed six 5-a-side football games on the newly opened all weather pitch at Plascrug Leisure Centre, which is only a short walk away from the office. 

By some miracle, even though the sessions have been held between September and February, we have not seen a drop of rain during any of the games! 

The sessions have been inclusive, welcoming, and friendly; a chance for colleagues from across the office to get to know each other, burn some calories and get some much-needed fresh air as well. All the games have been played in good spirit and it’s been great to see people getting to know each other and enjoying themselves. 

Everyone who’s participated is very grateful to CSSC for funding the sessions and the equipment; without that help we wouldn’t have been able to get them off the ground. 

The appetite is there to continue the sessions into the summer months, and we can only hope that the weather is as kind between April and August as it has been over winter!
