Fancy a Saturday Taster Sail?

Whether you used to sail, already sail or just fancy having a go, you will always be assured a warm welcome and looked after by the Rutland Civil Service Sailing Club members.

With Spring in full bloom, the calm, safe and steady inland waters of Rutland, are a fantastic place to dip your toe in the water and give sailing a try. Conveniently positioned halfway between Peterborough and Leicester and just over an hour from Birmingham, Rutland Water is 12 Square km of beautiful, pristine waterways.
Not only is the civil service sailing club at home here, but the lake boasts nature reserves, golf clubs, visitor centres, aqua parks and hotels. There’s windsurfing, fishing, and a ride on the Rutland Belle which sails from Whitwell.

Any age or ability will love the feeling of being out on the water, but if you can’t convince your loved ones and friends to join you, you can still bring them along to watch you set sail, leaving them free to explore or sit back, relax and enjoy the stunning views from the veranda. Did I mention they do a nice cake and coffee or something cooler in the clubhouse?
When you’re done with your sail, you could perhaps enjoy a gentle stroll to nearby Normanton Church 1.4 miles, with views West across to Hambleton Peninsula, North to Whitwell and the Dam with Empingham behind it. There’s plenty to see along the way and you can hire bikes for the whole family to explore further afield.
