- Who can volunteer at CSSC? Any active or linked CSSC member can volunteer, regardless of their background or current profession.
- Do I need specific skills or qualifications? Not at all. While some specialised roles may need prior experience, most opportunities—such as event organising, admin, or social activities—only require enthusiasm and reliability.
- What kind of roles are available? There is a huge range of activities you can get involved with. Roles include event coordinators, activity leaders, marketing and website support, or even helping out with regional trips and sports.
- How much time do I need to commit? Volunteering is highly flexible. You can offer to help with a one-off day out, or take on a more regular, ongoing role, depending on your schedule.
- Can I volunteer as part of a bank of volunteers? Yes, if you don't want to tie yourself down to a specific role right away, you can be added to a volunteer bank and pick up occasional tasks that suit you.
- Will I receive any training or induction? Absolutely. Every new volunteer receives a full induction, training subsidies, and access to a CSSC Volunteer Knowledge Base to help guide you through the process.
- Who will support me? You will be matched with a Volunteer Team Leader (VTL) who will help you find the right role, manage your portfolio, and provide ongoing support.
- Are my expenses covered? Yes, CSSC provides expense forms and guidelines to ensure you aren't left out of pocket for performing your volunteer duties.
