Matlock Farm Park is a wonderful day out for friends and families.
The park is an interactive animal experience with many opportunities to pet and feed the park animals.
CSSC have booked a group session, there will be a guided tour of the park at 11:30 with the chance to get up close to some of the animals and we will have a covered area made available for lunch available. You can bring your own packed lunch or buy food on site from their food vans or cafe. You are then welcome to wander off and enjoy the farm park for the rest of the day.
For families this offer includes up to 2 child places per member.
Not included in this package: The farm park offer pony rides that do not need to be prebooked and longer treks that do need to be pre-booked on their website. The farm park also do a range of free activities throughout the day, such as sheep racing, and have loads of active play spaces for children, with benches nearby for less active adults!

Format of the day
10:00 - 10:30 - The Farm Park opens at 10:00 and you are welcome to arrive between 10:00 and 10:30 - a CSSC volunteer will be in the car park/at the entrance to meet you and book you into the farm park. Contact details will be sent prior to the event so if you are running late/can't find the volunteer on the day you can make contact to be met at the entrance.
11:30 - 1 hour group activity, guided tour, small animal petting, meerkat talk.
12:30 - Lunch time, you are welcome to bring your own packed lunch and a covered space will be provided for you to eat in, or there are plenty of on site cafe's and mobile catering vans to buy food from.
13:00 onwards - you are welcome to explore and enjoy the farm park either on your own or with the new friends you have met in the morning. The volunteer (me) will be enjoying the sheep racing and feeding the animals in the afternoon so you are welcome to join me as I tour around the park or contact me if you have any issues during the free time in the afternoon.

Matlock farm park try to be as accessible as possible and provide excellent facilities, but if you have a specific issue you need to discuss with them you can do so directly with the venue and/or email events.midlands@csscvolunteer.co.uk and we will try to accomodate you.
We will meet as a group at the farm park car park at 10:00 if you are running late you will be given a phone number a few weeks before hand so you can contact the volunteer organiser to manage your access when you arrive.
