Brighton Area Caravan Club (BACC) has a limited number of memberships available for CSSC members.
BACC started in the early 1940s in the GPO. Its purpose was to provide affordable holidays to its members, and this remains its purpose today. Over the years, the club’s membership has expanded to include BT and HMRC employees and former employees, and CSSC members.
CSSC members benefit from not having to pay the £25 joining fee or the annual £25 membership fee.
The Caravans:
- BACC has 2 static caravans, each sleeping a maximum of 6 people.
- One caravan is on the Hoburne Holiday Park at Bashley in the New Forest. It has 2 bedrooms (1 x double, 1 x twin) plus sleeping for 2 in the lounge. On site, there are indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a café/restaurant, entertainment centre and its own 9-hole golf course. Plus, it is close to everything the New Forest has to offer, with easy access to Southampton, Bournemouth and Poole, and even the Isle of Wight.
- The other caravan is on the Freshwater Beach Holiday Park at Burton Bradstock on the Jurassic coast near Bridport, Dorset. New in 2024, it has 3 bedrooms; 1 x double and 2 x twins. Much like Hoburne Park, Freshwater Beach Holiday Park has indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a café/restaurant, and an entertainment centre. Although no golf course (there’s one next to the park), the park has direct access to the beach and the Jurassic coastline, with the towns of Bridport, Dorchester and Weymouth nearby. It even featured in the hit ITV series Broadchurch.
- Both caravans are let to BACC members on a weekly basis, from mid-March to early November.
- There is off-season availability on request.
- The weekly charge represents a significant discount on the park rates.
Availability:
- There is good availability throughout the season for the Hoburne caravan, with limited availability at Freshwater Beach.
