Volunteering at Banham Zoo offers an incredible opportunity to contribute to wildlife conservation, support their animals, and engage with like-minded people. Whether you’re helping the keepers with their day-to-day tasks or lending a hand in the gardens, there’s a place for you to make a real difference.
You will also have the chance to feed the Girraffes!
10am: Arrival at the Zoo & Briefing
10.30am: Volunteering activity commences
1pm: Break for lunch
2pm: Continue with volunteering activities
2:30pm: Giraffe feeding
4pm: Wrap up volunteering
4pm-5pm: Free time in the zoo or you are welcome to head home.
Banham Zoo is a beautifully unique place to spend a day and you’ll have the chance to work alongside passionate staff who'll share their knowledge and enable you to get hands on. Activities can range from gardening, painting to cleaning enclosures.
Dressing for the weather - If you have them, please wear steel toe cap boots or sensible, flat, enclosed, supportive footwear. All clothing should be weather appropriate, warm, and waterproof. If you are not dressed suitably, you will not be able to engage in the activity. Please bring gardening gloves or they can be provided if needed.
