Curator-Led Tour of House of Stories: Tales from the Chatsworth Library
Enjoy an exclusive VIP experience at Chatsworth with a curator-led tour of the House of Stories: Tales from the Chatsworth Library exhibition. Your visit includes a private guided tour with a Chatsworth curator, followed by complimentary tea and coffee. After the tour, you're welcome to spend the rest of the day exploring Chatsworth's beautiful gardens and parkland at your leisure.
Chatsworth comprises a Grade I listed house and stables, a 105-acre garden, a 1,822-acre park, a farmyard and adventure playground, and one of Europe's most significant private art collections. It has been home to seventeen generations of the Devonshire family for nearly five centuries.
Chatsworth has been cared for by Chatsworth House Trust, a registered charity established in 1981 for the benefit of everyone. Every penny of visitor admission income, Gift Aid, membership, sponsorship and donations is reinvested into the charity.
The Devonshire family have been passionate readers, collectors and champions of literature since the 17th century. Across seventeen generations, they have assembled one of Britain's most important private book collections, preserving rare first editions, exquisitely decorated books and personally annotated volumes, with works of fiction, poetry and drama forming a key part of this remarkable collection. For the first time, Chatsworth is showcasing some of the most treasured literary works from the Chatsworth Library. During this exclusive tour, a Chatsworth curator will take you behind the stories of the exhibition, offering fascinating insights into the rare books, manuscripts and letters on display.
