Thanks to CSSC’s generous support, ONS Manchester has launched a vibrant 5-a-side football initiative that’s bringing colleagues together, boosting wellbeing, and building a stronger office community. The funding covered pitch hire and essential gear—footballs, bibs, and goalie gloves—making it easy for staff of all backgrounds to join in. Offering free trial games has been a game-changer, especially for those new to football or returning after a break.
What started as a small group of 15 has grown into a buzzing community of over 40 players, with weekly matches and regular socials. The inclusive nature of the group—welcoming all ages, genders, and skill levels—has helped new starters feel at home and fostered connections across the office.
