Our interim CEO Devi Virdi and Head of People and Culture Lauren Street were invited to attend the LSEG closing ceremony to announce the 2026 British Diversity Awards.

On Wednesday 28 January, Interim CEO Devi Virdi and Head of People and Culture Lauren Street attended the ceremonial closing of the London Stock Exchange (LSEG).

Representing CSSC, alongside other prestigious organisations, Devi and Lauren were invited to celebrate the announcement of the 2026 British Diversity Awards, taking place on 25 March, which this year are being sponsored by LSEG.

This huge honour was a timely opportunity to reflect on our own journey, started last year with a commitment and action plan to embed our long-held values into every member experience and community we serve.

Devi reflects on this amazing opportunity:

“Standing in that room was a powerful reminder of the responsibility we hold as a member-owned organisation representing over 100,000 public sector and civil service employees across the UK.

We exist to inspire wellbeing, build community and foster a genuine sense of belonging through sport, experiences, products and savings. That mission only works when every member feels seen, valued and included.

Inclusion isn’t a slogan for us. It’s fundamental to delivering a better member experience and strengthening the communities we serve.”

CSSC’s ongoing journey

We are on our own ED&I journey, and we know we have more work to do. The Action Plan, launched in 2025, was an important first step in recognising the challenge and setting the tone of our commitment.

Our focus now is on embedding these commitments into our decisions, our behaviours and the way we serve our members
