On Friday 31 January Paul Howells (Event Organiser for Oxford) arranged an awesome day out at TeamSport Go Karting in High Wycombe. There was a mixture of 15 members and their kids, ready to take on an action-packed day of racing, laughter, and team bonding.
As we arrived with the sleek karts lined up, there was a sense of excitement and a real buzz in the air. After checking in and suiting up in our racing gear, we gathered for the all-important safety briefing. The staff did a great job ensuring everyone, especially the kids, felt confident and ready to hit the track.
The Race!
Once the green light flashed, it was game on! The competitive spirit kicked in as we navigated twists and turns, overtook each other (sometimes successfully, sometimes not), and tried to clock our fastest lap times.
The beauty of racing with colleagues is that it brings out unexpected personalities—some, who you might never expect. While others were just there for the fun of it. The kids, of course, had their own excitement, giggling as they zoomed around corners and competing with one another. Taking great delight every time, they overtook an adult. There were moments of light-hearted banter, playful rivalries, and plenty of high-fives at the finish line.
For the kids, it was a fun experience—learning to handle a kart, improving their driving skills, and feeling the rush of friendly competition.

Post Race
After the final lap, we checked our scores on the leaderboard. Some of us celebrated personal bests, while others plotted their strategy for “next time.” The venue had a great chill-out area where we grabbed some snacks. The Chocolate Nutella Milkshake was popular. While the kids enjoyed Prawn Tempura and Mozzarella Sticks, we all relived our best (and funniest) moments on the track.
A day at TeamSport Go Karting is more than just racing—it’s about bringing people together in a fun, high-energy environment. Whether you're looking for a workplace bonding experience, a family-friendly adventure, or just an adrenaline rush, it’s a perfect place to let loose, challenge yourself, and most importantly, have fun.
Would we do it again? Absolutely. And next time, we’re coming for that top spot on the leaderboard! Paul will be arranging another event very soon, but with more spaces for more people to enjoy and have fun.
