With the school holidays coming to an end, I wanted to give the children one last special day out before they headed back to the classroom for a fun-filled trip to the London Aquarium – a little end-of-summer treat!

It was a busy morning – we were rushing around trying to catch the train.

We were thrilled to spot Nemo and Dory swimming among the colourful fish when we arrived at the Aquaruim, and the kids were amazed by Boris and Dougie, the giant sea turtles aged 25 and 26. They were so graceful and huge! The aquarium itself is big, with lots of walking and every section had something new to see. The jellyfish displays were beautiful, and we even tried the Underwater VR experience, which made us feel like we were really scuba diving under the sea – a highlight.

After our underwater adventure, we stopped for a tasty lunch at Chai Chappati. I couldn’t resist trying their famous Dubai Dessert with knafeh, strawberries and chocolate sauce before heading out for a long walk along the South Bank.

We strolled past the London Eye, I made a note to come back at Half Term to take in the beautiful views from the top – especially since I get a discount through CSSC. In fact, CSSC offers brilliant savings on lots of Merlin attractions, so I might even make a day of it with the London Dungeon or Shrek’s Adventure too – double the fun and double the savings!

The best part? I saved £15 on our Aquarium tickets with my CSSC discount, which made the day even sweeter.

All in all, it was the perfect way to wrap up the holidays – a mix of fun, food, and family time in one of London’s most vibrant spots. The kids enjoyed every moment, and it helped ease those “back to school” nerves.
